2014–2026: Affiliated with the company ScanDis A/S as a freelance consultant.

2026: Full stack development of SSSP/Tizen Signage system and related iOS/Android app

2022-2025: Developed an iOS and Android app for monitoring and alerting movement in private residences. The app was built using C# with the cross-platform MAUI framework. Additionally, I undertook two other key responsibilities:

Programming hardware devices that detect movement using PIR sensors, initialized through Bluetooth communication with the app. Developing a server application that manages notifications to phones, ensuring alerts are delivered even when the app is closed.

2018-2022: Developed a browser extension compatible with Chrome, Safari, Edge, and more. Created license management functionality within a companion app for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, handling In-App Purchases seamlessly.

2014-2020: Developed a text-to-speech program for MacOS. An Indian company handled the user interface programming, while I managed project coordination and programmed the internal data processing. In 2018, after ending the collaboration with the Indian company, I took over full responsibility for the continued development of the entire program.

2004-2014: Worked as a consultant with ViTec (formerly MV-Nordic, originally MicroVærkstedet), where I contributed to product development on several key projects, including the following:

Document reader for Android smartphones. This reader received the IT Assistive Technology of the Year award at the HIT Conference in September 2010.

A system designed to read web pages aloud. This technology has been utilized across numerous public and private websites, including http://www.dr.dk/nyheder/ligetil, www.fff.dk, and www.foa.dk.

Mathematics program for students in grades 1 through 10. Originally included in ViTec’s former school agreement, I later developed an online web version of the program.

Implementing Text-to-Speech on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android Platforms

2011-2014: Collaborating with a journalist, I recorded and edited multiple web films. During this project, I also developed a custom video player to showcase the films, which can be viewed at https://avoconsult.dk/jfoplayer/default.aspx

2013: Collaborated with a journalist and two photographers to teach at a summer media school in Tasiilaq, Greenland. Each participant created a personal website to showcase their work and introduce themselves, useful for job interviews. See http://avoconsult.dk/tasiilaq/index.html

1995-2011: Co-owner of Cinderella ApS (see www.cinderella.dk), a company specializing in design tools built on SDL (see below). In 2011, I sold my one-third ownership stake. Throughout my tenure at Cinderella, I wrote several hundred thousand lines of C++ code.

2000-2003: Provided consultancy services to diverse clients. Developed tools for SOLINET in Stuttgart, contributed to projects at Siemens in Berlin, and collaborated on speech synthesis technology with the Danish company SpeechWare.

1983-1999: After graduating as a civil engineer in 1983, I worked at TDC until 1999. From 1998 to 1999, I held the position of section manager, leading a team of 17 employees.

1984-1999: Researched and developed tools for the specification language SDL and actively contributed to its standardization. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, I was recognized as a leading expert in SDL standardization. Until 1999, this work was conducted under TDC, which later became Tele Danmark Research following the merger of telephone companies.
